Virginie Viard’s first Chanel Métiers d’Art show is coming to London
The French fashion house will give a replica show in the British capital for the first time. Chanel will again present the Métiers d’Art show at the end of last year in June this time in London.
The show in London will be a replica of the Métiers d’Art show that was presented at the Grand Palais in Paris last December – including the decor designed by Sofia Coppola.
This is the first Métiers d’Art collection designed by creative director Virginie Viard, the successor to Karl Lagerfeld.

The show will take place on June 4 at Old Billingsgate in London. Karl Lagerfeld’s successor, Virginie Viard, presented her first Métiers d’Art collection for Chanel in the Grand Palais in Paris last December.

Old Billingsgate, just like the Grand Palais, will be transformed into a replica of the iconic Coco Chanel apartment. In addition to a larger-than-life set, this summer British fashion lovers will be able to enjoy in real life the exceptional craftsmanship that the French fashion house is known for.
When and where any tickets are available has not been announced yet.
Tribute to Coco Chanel
For the show, creative director Virginie Viard worked together with director Sofia Coppola to create an impressive backdrop. Sofia is no stranger to Chanel: she did an internship there at the age of 15 and has always remained closely connected to the fashion house. The shows of Chanel are known for their controversial decors – the first show of Virginie was of course not to be missed.
Her first Métiers d’Art show was a nod to the beginning of the French fashion house, namely the apartment on 31 rue Cambon of Coco Chanel – complete with gold-plated lion heads, bouquets of camellias and personal items from Mademoiselle Chanel.

The Métiers d’Art show would also be presented again in Beijing in May.
